How to embed a Google Video clip into a blog post
(and a presentation on what fMRI can tell us about the visual cortex.)
YouTube isn’t the only site that can be used for embedding film clips into a blog post. Google Video can be used too.
I’ve been posting short film clips for a while now, but this one’s far longer than any of the others. I’d be interested in any comments about it. Specifically, did you watch the whole clip or is it too long?
I had a little trouble embedding the clip into this post, but I figured it out eventually! The code provided by Google is below; it can be found by clicking ‘Blog’ in the blue bar at the right of the page containing the clip, then clicking ‘Embed HTML.’
<embed style=”width:400px; height:326px;” id=”VideoPlayback” type=”application/x-shockwave-flash” src=”http://video.google.com/googleplayer.swf?docId=-7524529047833923429&hl=en-GB”> </embed>
The code for embedding the clip into this post is the bold part of the code above, and should be placed after the equal sign in this snippet: [googlevideo=]
You don’t need to use the HTML editor; just place the code as a separate paragraph in the appropriate place of your post. This may need to be done differently if you have a non-WordPress blog.
